Kitty Wells, the "Queen of Country Music", was born Ellen Muriel Deason, in Nashville, Tennessee on August 30, 1919.

Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1976.

During the 1950s she was the only female vocalist to consistently hit the top of the country charts and her stardom was on the same level as the biggest male vocalists of the period.

They taught their daughter to play the guitar at 14. Formed the Kitty Wells/Johnny Wright Family Show in 1969; children Bobby and Ruby are part of the show. First Queen of Country Music.
